Let Jesus Carry You

As churches take over abandoned stores and warehouses, we don’t often see them pacing stained glass windows in the new buildings.  European churches are known for the exquisite stained glass windows depicting the life of Jesus.  He is pictured with a lamb on his shoulders.  We see him feeding the 5000 or perhaps touching the eyes of the blind man to give him sight.  But do we see his sacrifice of suffering?  Have you ever thought about what it would be like to be hailed as king one week then hear the yell of the crowds to crucify you the next week?  What about Jesus’ 12 closest friends? One betrayed him, one denied him, and one didn’t believe him even after he was raised from the dead! The prophet Isaiah describes Jesus as despised and rejected by mankind, a man of suffering and familiar with pain, Isaiah 53:3. Jesus sacrificed everything for you.  You are the lamb he carried. He is the Living water and the Bread of Life your soul desires.  He can make your blind eyes see.  Will you deny him? Betray him? Believe him? He knows what you will choose. He sacrificed himself anyway. Love, so amazing.
